Handpull cask at the Christmas Steps, Bristol. Amber/light brown and clear with a film white head. Light malty scent with some wet wood, hay, dried grass. Simple clean taste, bittersweet with a slight lean toward a more bitter flavour in the finish. Nice enough but too simple to be a great beer.

Cask ale, half-pint, shared with Finn at Three Tuns. Clear copper coloured body, clingy lacing from a beige head. Plain brown malty nose. Rounded malt-fruity flavours with caramel and herbal hops. Prolonged bittersweet ending. Clean on the swallow. Likable bitter version. (Sunday pub crawl in Bristol 30.04.2017).
