This kind of beer comes from England and is considered to be the English beer heritage. In Britain they make around 250 kinds of the bitter beer. For the first wort hopping, we use Columbus hop, for the second English Fuggle, which is the most famous English hop and its pedigree goes back to 1875, and for the third hopping we use English hop Bramling Cross. For dry hopping we use Bramling Cross as well. Thanks to the English hops, the character of the aroma reminds of red currant and oranges. The hop aroma is less intense than with IPA beers. Our ESB is less zesty, which is typical for this kind of beer. Higher temperature (around 13 °C) helps the aroma and the taste to fully come out.

Bottle, 750 ml. Thanks Giggsy. Shared with JFK10000. Pours cloudy dark yellow, medium sized white head. Citrus, malt, hops. Easy drinkable and quite nice, but wouldn’t say it’s an ESB.

Appearance: Hazy deep golden color with a white head that leaves a nice lacing.
Aroma: Mild hoppy, mild fruity and very malty.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet, and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Citric, fruity and a heavy butterscotch and malty back.
Overall impression: Quite tasty ale, although it had way to much butterscotch on board.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with Cuso
