Truth is our Barrel-aged Imperial Stout. Featuring a blend of three standout barrels brewed and barreled in 2018, Truth is the purest expression of barrel-aged beer that we make.
In the glass, we taste potent but balanced flavors of chocolate bourbon candy, sweet vanilla-like oak, tootsie rolls, and baker’s chocolate. Though the flavors are intense, they are beautifully balanced making Truth a joy to enjoy and savor as it warms up.
We are proud of this beer, and being the first time we’ve been able to enjoy it in almost five years, we are feeling very nostalgic.

750ml bottle. Jet black colour with very late awakening, very small, creamy, fading, dark brown head. BA supported, roasty, chocolately, dark malty, slightly caramel malty and minimally fruity alcoholic aroma, mild notes of Bourbon, caramel, vanilla, treacle, hints of dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, blueberry, plum butter, a weak, ashy-smoky touch, overtones of pancake, maple syrup, whiffs of cinnamon. Taste is BA supported, sweet, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, caramel mlaty and slightly fruity alcoholic, bitter hoppy counterpart, notes of caramel, dark chocolate, Bourbon vanilla, hints of blueberry, redcurrant, pancake, maple syrup, plum butter; lingering, slightly warming finish, minimally mineral undertones.
Viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, dense, soft carbonation.
Immensely viscous, mild and homogeneous, full of subtleties, very nice fruity-alcoholic aspects - great!

Bottle shared with friends in The Hague. Massive thanks. Poured almost black in colour with little life. The aroma is roasty, molasses, vanilla. The flavour is strong sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, chocolate, light herbal, molasses, vanilla, liquorice bitter palate and a rich oily mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. At the end of all 16, of course we did a cuvee from the entire run. Massive barrel forward, chocolate. Toffee

12oz bottled 2022, drunk 3/16/23. Dark, unclear pour, tan head quickly to edge. Nose is wonderful and better than the Nascent Truth I just tried. More savory bourbon and richer malt with intense, but yet moderately attenuated caramel and a super-even character without any excess sugar, alcohol or bourbon. Barrel really softens everything here and the nose is just gravy. Wow, damn, that's nice. Plum and prune-like acidity nip at the palate and balance a rich, viscous, syrupy, but not sugary malt profile. Rich chocolate, vanilla, plum and light roast with excellent, not overdone bourbon savoriness. Very light spiciness, not as much bourbon character as some, but still there in the sense that it dries things out and adds richness. Kinda odd how much nicer this is than the Nascent Truth that got released more or less around the same time....Definitely the best stout I've had from Tree House.
