Brewed with continental Pilsner malt and noble hops and fermented cool with a traditional yeast strain from Cologne, Germany, this bright and refreshing blonde ale is crisp and dry with a floral and subtly fruity finish.

I do enjoy the occasional Kolsch and this afternoon I have a 12 oz can from von Trapp to sample. It came by way of Half Time recently. My ABGB snifter is prepared for the pour, a clear bright gold-yellow body greets me along with a continuous cover of snow white foam. The scent is an appealing citrus, yeast and grain. I lift the glass for a drink to find more of the citrus, malt, bread, a touch of nectarine sweetness and meadow. It has a quite full presence and a small but nice finishing bitterness. It seems edgier and more aggressive than most Kolsches, all right by me. One of the best in the style I’ve had.

Can from Hegedorn's. Malty, bready nose, honey, biscuits, herbal and lemony hops. Solid. Slightly hazy bright gold with a low, lacy head. Very bready malt flavor, lemony, touch of fruity sweetness with honey, lightly tart, rather strong, crisp bitterness in the finish. Probably slightly hoppy for the style, but in an old-world way. Nice stuff.

Enjoyed at the brewery April 2018. Very slight hazed, light golden colour with a white head and quite nice lace. Fresh cereal aromas with hints of bubblegum and bananas. Same for the taste, but the cereal is quite present and lingers very well, with a mild touch of grass - all well-balanced. The mouthfeel has a beautiful dryness that builds up. Very nicely done between lots of cereal, hops and even what seems like wheat.
