Közepes, tartós, bézs hab, sötétbarna, vöröses árnyalatú szín. Whiskey-s, karamelles, narancsos, cseresznyés illat. Whiskey-s, narancsos, karamelles, vaníliás, cseresznyés ízek. Testes, közepesen szénsavas, nem túl erős, de határozott komlós keserű. Nem rossz, de nem nagyon simulnak egymásba az ízek, lehetne lágyabb.

Aus der Flasche (bottled 07.06.2021) im 2004-02 getrunken. Dieses dunkelbraune Ale kommt mit wunderbaren Aromen von Karamell und Vanilie durch das Bourbon BA daher. Bei diesen Ale paßt einfach alles - wunderbar!

Bottle at home from Sterk, Amsterdam, 23rd November 23. Pours a chestnut brown, small white head. Aroma is caramel, dark fruits, barrel and liquor, light cherry. Taste is barrel, wood, cherry, liquor, dark fruits, some hint of citrus zest, complex and warming, lovely sipper by the fire.

0.355l bottle from the Bottle Shop Series. Hazy brown body with a quickly collapsing beige head. Strong wood, vanilla and nutmeg notes in the aroma with candi sugar, orange zest and a hint of anis. Taste of molasses, wood, nutmeg, vanilla, orange zest and a hint of floral hops. The aroma is a tiny bit too boozy and phenolic, but the taste is quite smooth. Complex, warming beer. Very nice.

.355 bottle shared with Snegurochka at the home of rare - for Norway - Founders beers. Slightly hazy dark reddish brown body with a very small white head that soon disappears leaving a nice line of lacing above the drink. Aroma is quite strong even when served at near normal refrigerator temperature. Deep, sweet malts of vanilla and brown sugar dominate with notes of dark fruits and hints of spices like anise and cardamom. Could have wished for more bitterness to complement the sweetness. Perhaps it will make an appearance once ingested. Flavour is also initially sweet, and perhaps a bit too sweet for my liking. However, and thankfully in this reviewer's case, the sweetness is quite well balanced with some bitterness in the taste. A slight onrush of bitter malts and warming alcohol with delightful notes of coffee makes the finish quite a lot better than the beginning. Mouthfeel is very good, enabling you to savour the flavours of each sip for quite a long time. As is their custom, Founders deliver a finely crafted beer that both afficionados of sweet and bitter malty drinks will enjoy, although either is unlikely to place the Highball Drifter atop their lists. Very good but not truly great.

Bottle, shared w/The_Cellarer @Glød, Oslo. Pours a clear body (colour indistinguishable due to lighting), tiny head leaving patches on top. Sweet malt, caramel, coffee beans, dark fruits, sourdough and anise notes, mirrored i taste but also some spicy notes. Very smooth and medium to full bodied. Pairs well with the general autumnal mood and atmosphere in Oslo today!

Bottled. A murky dark amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of dried fruits, malt, caramel, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry finish.
