Taste: The liquid form of dark chocolate dipped jaffa cakes being stuffed into the mouth, Peel & Bean presents juicy orange and citrus oils mixed with spicy rye cracker and sweet hot chocolate. Red fruits and mixed spices join in with toasted hazelnuts creating a glass full of everyone’s childhood favourite rich chocolate orange biscuit.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: black in the pour and in the glass with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated outward but didn't leave much lace if any at all
Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, roasted coffee tones then some orange zest
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality then flanked by some light citrusy vibes; finishes semi-sweet with some roasty vibes and a touch of citrus
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; good amount of smoothness with some citrusy tones playing nicely without causing too much distraction
Overall: nicely done pastry impy porter worthy of coming back to.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with orange zest, dark chocolate, burnt malt. Flavour is moderate sweet with a fairly bitter conclusion. Medium body. Decent, I dig the orange zest. Lacks body though.

Bottle 330ml @ My parent's place
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, orange and cocoa. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long chocolate, roasted, cocoa and licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

330ml bottle from Homebrewstuff. Inky black pour, a few fine bubbles ring the glass. A hint of orange rind hits the nose first, then equal parts roast malts and dark chocolate. Taste is light roast bitterness, orange rind and semi-sweet chocolate. Creamy feel, notes of orange pith linger.

Pours a near black from a bottle. Dry, dark chocolate aroma and flavor, not picking up on much zest surprisingly. Very nice rye spiciness. Good beer.

On tap at BrewDog Bristol Harbourside, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is full of bright orange zest, moderate coffee, and some dark sugars. Flavour is rich, with intense orange zest, moderate-to-high sweetness, and more subdued coffee. There's some gentle cocoa in there too. Sweeter than expected and hoped for, but definitely cohesive and with some nice depth. Very good, albeit sweet.

Very roasty, coffee, dark chocolate, slight notes of orange peel. To the point, no abstraction. Quite enjoyable.

Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Cocoa streaked malts, a mild dark malt creamy sweetness. Rich semi ripe orange comes through on the back end, a little orange liqueur and a whisper of chocolate liqueur. Quite a light finish. First few mouthfuls left me largely unimpressed but Pohjala are a class act and of course this one crept up on me and now I am digging the layered and not too obvious Terry's Chocolate Orange vibe.
