Taste: The liquid form of dark chocolate dipped jaffa cakes being stuffed into the mouth, Peel & Bean presents juicy orange and citrus oils mixed with spicy rye cracker and sweet hot chocolate. Red fruits and mixed spices join in with toasted hazelnuts creating a glass full of everyone’s childhood favourite rich chocolate orange biscuit.

I've got a 33 cl bottle of Peel and Bean from a stop at a Spec's in Dallas prepared for a tasting, my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass is awaiting. No idea what to expect, Pohjala is usually all right. I see a dark brown liquid with a bare skim of taupe foam and some ongoing carbonation, some relief here since I heard nothing when I lifted the cap. The scent is uplifting with chocolate, citrus and grain wafting above. The taste is actually pretty interesting. Chocolate of course, malt, coffee, orange rind, grain again and something nutty. Better to me if it was less thin. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder in any case.

pitch black with a brown bubbly fast disappearing head, some smooth head underneath that lasts longer. Aroma is dominated by notes from barrelling, however, these notes are super well blended together and very smooth and very delightful. boozy notes well hidden. amazing boozy barrel aroma in the best way imaginable. Flavor is oranges or citrus fruits, roasted malts, watery. Flavor is not that interesting but the aroma was.

12/8/2023. Bottle shared at RigaGP bottle share. From Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Good looking beer. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa powder, coffee, orange rind, roasted malt, rye bread. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily and slick, average carbonation. Nice bitter coffee orange finish. Good if just a little thin.

Bottle pour from Beer and Wine Nation. It's an opaque dark, dark brown--virtually black--with ring of beige head, light viscosity and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted rye, earthy/woody and chocolate. Taste is roasted rye, tart fruit (orange?), earth and cocoa. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and somewhat tart finish as taste. Overall, the elements of my description sound like this should be really good but things don't quite come together. Thin. Disappointing.
