Paradox Grain has been matured in ex bourbon whisky barrels. Wonderful oak notes complimented by smooth vanilla, rich treacle, stewed fruits and decadent chocolate.

Best enjoyed at room temperature, unless you live in an igloo.

Appearance is midnight black, with a tan head which settles quickly. Aroma is whisky, chocolate brownie, fudge cake, leather, roast dark malt, oaky woodiness, after-dinner coffee, treacle toffee Christmas pudding, raisiny dark fruit. Taste is chewy roast malt, caramel fudge, bitter dark chocolate, bit of peaty smoke, liqueur chocolate, dark roast coffee, whisky boozy finish, oak barrel. Oily mouthfeel, lengthy dark chocolate finish. Great stuff.

Can from Geers. Pours hazy black with a lasting, thin, beige head. Aroma of ripe plum, candied date, leather, toast, teriyaki, chocolate praliné, wet tobacco, jerky, bourbon, vague green apple, coffee liqueur. Taste has sweet plum, date & raisin wrapped in a chocolatey & fudge-like malty body, umami teriyaki accents underneath, a bit herbal & toasty. Dry, roasted, earthy hoppy finish, sweet tobacco & dried fruits lingering before a boozy bourbon alcohol warmth kicks in. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Rough around the edges but hard not to like it.

On keg at Brewdog Lothian Road. Appearance - opaque black with an attractive cream head. Nose - coffee, dark chocolate and booze. Taste - dark chocolate again, booze, prunes and Jamaica cake. Molasses, just an edge of smoke. Palate - full bodied, creamy texture, long persistent and boozy finish. Overall - nice.

Imp stout provning 2 olika hos PQ i hans trädgård .
