Clear mahogany brown colour with lasting creamy head. Quite strong with sweet dried fruits. Very silky texture. Nice balance of malty sweetness and a rounded bitter finish.

Keg @ Beatnikz Republic Bar, Manchester. Dark amber with a traditional ale styling and it’s mildly sweet tasting, but not in its finish.

2/1/2022. Can at the New Year beer share. From The Town Mouse, Newcastle. Gusher. Pours hazy dark amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, fruit, bread, berry, dried fruit, nutmeg. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a slight tart hint. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Enjoyed it, apart from the gush.

Can from the Black Toad. Appearance - amber to brown. Beige head. Nose - bread and toffee. A hint of lemon. Taste - bread, cereal, very light toffee this time. Grassy and again a hint of lemon. Palate - light to medium bodied, lightly chewy. Overall - sometimes this style can fall short by being too challenging. This seems to easy, perhaps going into red ale style. Pleasant enough though.

440ml can; BBE Dec 2021. Drank at home on 4th Jul 2021. Light haze to the body, amber in colour, lasting off-white head. Nice malty feel to the nose and taste with toffee and caramel like esters and flavours, some hop action for balance too.

Foamy light beige head stayed on a reddish brown still body. Toffee, malt & caramel aroma. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated with with a fuller smooth back. Red berries, jam, spices, caramel & malt tastes with a long bitter tangy finish. Really nice.
