Hand-pulled half-pint on 15th Nov 2019; The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire. Slick and easy drinking Stout, looked good and tasted even better. Usual Stout attributes, black with a tanned head, malty and wholesome.

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Very dark brown, almost black with a small ring of white generous lacing. Lots of liquorice, some coffee grounds, a little bit if blackberry and clove on the nose. The taste is sweet, perhaps just a bit on the side of too sweet, with loads more liquor ice, powdered sugar, a touch of cough drop. Nicely carbonated for a cask beer. A decent drop.

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Nose as lactose combined with a frutiness suggestive of cherries. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a strong creamy head. In the mouth again it is a combination of smooth milkiness and fruits flavours like raspberries and cherries. Finish is the same, but some graininess does come through. Pleasant but nothing special.
