A classic IPA at 4.5% best enjoyed on a summer afternoon, listening to some local live music. The Association, flagship of the British fleet, struck the Gilstone Ledge in 1707 and sank within three minutes. Three other ships foundered that same night with the loss of two thousand sailors. This was described as the worst naval disaster of all time.

Sunday 8th Sep 2019. 500ml bottle in 'The Beach', a converted beach hut that is now a restaurant and bar on Porthmellon Beach, Isles of Silly. Lovely clear amber pour, decent white crown that lasted a while. Malty nose and initial taste, hop action mid-sip gives bitterness and balance. Light fruity flavours appear as the beer warms a little.
