Fairly tame for a chile IPA, notable for the vibrant note of Hatch chile, but lacking much of an actual hop punch. Big caramel malt note hews closer to a classic West Coast pale ale, while the mild citrus and pine don't do much for a serious hop jones. Finishes with a toast and pepper flourish, but lacks heat. Gimmicky, but, hey, I bought a can, so I guess it works.

Can from CraftShack. Pours gold with a slightly foamy white head. First aroma is fruity hop, and in mere seconds it turned into chili. Med body or so. Flavor is very Hatch. It doesn't burn much, but it's strong. With imagination I'm finding some fruity hop and a little caramel in support. I think that for some reason the chili is actually helping me find the malt. It's pretty dry stuff, and tho it might be bitter it's hard for me to tell whether it's hop bitter or the chili aspect. Decent drink in either case.

20th Dec 2017 saw my second visit to the Garage Brewpub, two Flights and a couple of 9 oz pours managed to refresh me enough to walk back into Old Town Temecula via the Aftershock Brewery. This beer was on my first Flight of the day. Clear golden pour, off-white topping. Light chili aroma and taste, hoppy rather than malty, some orange/citrus action flavour wise. Pleased it was a mild chili beer to be honest.

Can. Amber beer with a cream head. Chili and light grapefruit aroma. Chili and light pine flavor with light fruitiness. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Chili and light pine flavor with light malt and light fruitiness.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty spicy hoppy chili aroma. Fruity malty spicy chili flavor with hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy spicy chili warming finish.
