On the afternoon of Tuesday 17th May 2016 I visited The Tustin Brewery and had one of the most disappointing flights of beer I have ever had. This was beer number three and I was hoping for some vanilla, yeast and banana action from this misty, dull yellow brew: sadly I have to report that not a lot was going on in my glass apart from a little citrus note or two in an otherwise very un-Hefe like beer.

Draft. An unclear light yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of wheat and lemon. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, and bread as well as lighter notes of banana and straw, leading to a wheaty finish.

On tap. Hazy yellow with a white head leaving laces. Aroma of yeast and - surprisingly - hops! Light body, no banana or yeast notes and a little sulphur before a surprisingly hoppy finish. Not bad as such, but has absolutely nothing to do with a Hefe. 060709
