Dieses naturtrübe Bier wird nach historischem Vorbild gebraut. Wie alle Rothaus-Biere mit unserem weichen Brauwasser aus den eigenen Quellen direkt hinter unserer Brauerei im Wald, Qualitätsmalz aus der Region und Aromahopfen aus Tettnang und der Hallertau. Ohne den Filterprozess schmeckt man daher den "Schwarzwald unberührt".

330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Minimally musty, grainy, malty aroma, slightly grassy and minimally fruity, hoppy overtones, a cautious touch of apricot and quince. Taste is slightly bitter, metallic and minimally fruity hoppy, minimally husky, pale malty, a touch of apricot and quince. Watery texture with crumbly traces, smooth ans soft, simultaneously minimally repellent, dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Not completely harmonious, even a bit flawed, minimally musty in the nose, metallic in taste, on the other hand some adequate Zwickel features, nice appearance - OK.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy dark yellow/light orange with a nice but short-lived white head. Aroma of lemons, yeast and grains. Taste of yeast, bread, lemons, grains and some grass. Feels rather acidic. Finish is kind of dry. Low bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. Ok but I somehow expected better from Rothaus.

Bottle at The Ypres Castle Rye. Hazy pale gold colour lasting off white head. Rather a good yeasty flavour up front then some lemon then some cereal flavour towards the end. Decent lemony kellerbier. unfiltered mouthfeel. Decent. good lemon fruit. lemon meringue pie lemon.

Bottle from the station in Freiburg. Malty, slightly nutty nose, bread, and herbal, spicy hops. Hazy golden. Nutty, grainy flavor, nice balance, with earthy, spicy hops. Rather full and yeasty body. Decent enough. VEry malt forward.

Optisch etwas sehr dünn, im Trunk sehr maischig, ebenso im Trunk, sehr süß, hinten etwas wässrig. War wohl kein besonderes Jubiläum.

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Pianka malutka, sniezno biala, odrobinka metnosci, kolor jaskrawo zolty. W smaku delikatne malo slodowe, bez aromatu chmielu i w smaku takze specjalnie goryczki sie nie czuje. Limitowana seria na 225 lat browaru moim zdaniem nieudana.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Rothaus Schwarzwald Maidle ].[ Trade by Koelschtrinker ]. Clear light to medium yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, straw - grass, light grain, light to moderate hoppy, grass - straw - green hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity malt, pale malt, grass - straw, minerals. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
