Beautifully balanced pale beer with a subtle hop character. Oranges and tangerines with hints of underlying Christmas tree pine needles.

Cask at Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Light to mid-gold with a billowy white head. Lots of natural carbonation. Cereal, lemon, hay and a bit of astringency on the nose. Taste is dominated by a malty sweetness but there’s a nice gentle lemony bitter as well. More like a good Dortmunder than a classic English golden. A decent drop.

Cask pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates Shropshire on 2nd Jan 2016. Poured a clean and clear light gold with a full, deep white head. Too many citrus notes in the aroma for me, some maltiness too, but too little too late: taste the same. Scored objectively, but I am fed up with golden citrus beers!

Cask at the Wellington; clear straw yellow pour with a bubbly white head, pale malt and citrus aroma, taste has biscuit along with lemon, pale malts, quite refreshing.
