500ml can from a dodgy Asian Supermarket in Oakengates, Shropshire: I love this store, you never know what you are going to find, food or alcohol wise. The can was slightly out of date, by two weeks when opened on 18th Sep 2014. Poured twice into a ’Leffe’ badged chalice at home. Typical lager/pilsner look, golden, clear and bright: clean looking brew, thin white head that soon turned to a wisp and collar. Corn and metallic nose and taste with the alcohol evident from the off. Not a great advert for this style of beer, seems to come across as cheap, thin and the sort of beer that should be drank out of a brown paper bag on a park bench or tube train. No complaints about the look, but please do not buy this.

Can from Nissa supermarket, Hebden Bridge. Pale golden with a small carbonation and next to no head. Although noticeably strong, it’s strength is not as overbearing as you might expect and there’s a some lager flavour to be had from this. Sweet aroma.
