Cask, gravity at The Grapes, Sunday 8th December 2013 Pours black with light tan film at edges, spent coffee grains on nose. Tangy and fruity with a pleasing seam of coffee running through this. Lovely roasty flavours, it’s very good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7

Cask at the Northcote Road Draft House on 1 November 2013. Poured a very dark ruby colour, almost black with a rocky off white head. Aroma of prunes, brown sugar and some tobacco. Roast malt flavours with hints of dried fruit and orange peal. Finished with molasses, coffee and some earthy notes.

On the 3rd Oct 2013 my wife and I had 22 half-pints between us at the 35th Telford Beer Festival: this was one of those 22 from a choice of 34 hand-pulls in The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Lovely looking dark brew (black actually): with a good, solid head of tan coloured foam on top. Rich aroma and taste of roasted but not burnt malts: chocolate and coffee notes coming through very clearly, a fine beer and another one I’d happily stayed on if the mission hadn’t been set to try as many beers as possible before our taste buds went.
