Can, ~11C. Black with a fat coat of tan head. Smells more of coffee than custard (phew). Freshly ground lightly roasted coffee, darker roasted malt, vanilla. Smooth textured. The lactose does not stick out like it's a friend of Nicki Minaj's cousin but you know it's there. Certainly sweet but not for what it is with toffee, coffee, vanilla, some other spices amidst slight bitterness. Pretty good but a whole can is a lot.

I get all the right notes in the aroma - coffee, egg, brown sugar, vanilla, plus some biscuit. It has a beautiful, creamy mouthfeel with some citrus hops to balance the sweetness. I could sip this to eternity.

From a 375ml can on 25/6/2020. Pours a deep deep brown with a medium tan head. Smells of vanilla and light coffee. Flavour wise, it's bold and intense - lots of milk chocolate, strong coffee, caramel, brown sugar and vanilla, followed by a decent tangy, slightly salty and roasty bitterness which balances the sweetness out perfectly. The mouthfeel is a touch creamy (the lactose evident) and the carbonation moderate. An amazing, complex and absolutely delicious pastry stout.

(Can) Lovely looking beer - very dark brown with good mid brown head. Aroma is coffee with notes of dark toffee / burnt sugar. Great mouthfeel too. Full bodied, smooth, creamy with fine carbonation. Good tasting too. It’s rich and quite complex. There’s plenty of sweetness, but it’s nicely balanced with raisin / dried fruit tang at the start and burnt sugar and coffee bitterness in the finish. There’s notes of milk chocolate in the start to mid palate, and some creamy milky notes towards the end. Very enjoyable.
