When we explained the colloquial meaning of the word ‘cheeky’ to our pal Evan from Green Cheek, he had a moment of inspiration. What if we were to make the cheekiest of beers? Strong, uncompromising, full-flavoured, yet deceptively drinkable. Well, here it is, a Quadruple IPA brewed with Citra and Strata hops. Grab a friend and indulge in a cheeky beer - at a safe distance, of course.

Can at home, 25th July 2021. Pours a hazy normal looking orange DIPA, but what lies beneath is a monster. Aroma is intense, rum fruit punch, pineapple, citrus and booze. Taste is smooth, tropical and citrus, but hot with booze. It’s a beast, but not bad in taste. Not sure of the point of it, but an interesting ‘experiment’

Can. Thanks to SirAlex. Pours hazy Golden with a creamy White head. Massive pine, petroleum and tropical fruit. Dank and oily. Sweet, soft and chewy with a late alcohol warmth. I dig!

Can at home, from CW online, 22/04/21. Murky orange with a good sized white head. Nose is bitter orange, pine needle, grapefruit, light booze fumes, ripe melon, papaya. Taste comprises sticky tropical fruits, sweet undertone, juicy melon, ripe tropicana, pine resin, mango flesh. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close laced with resinous hop bitterness and big boozey after burn. Passable for the genre ... one of the weaker TIPA's I've had to be honest but fine to sip on ... overly hot and a harsh in places with an overriding level of sweetness.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a nice level of creamy sweetness. Citra and Strata deliver good hop intensity, although a noticed a perfumey note to the pine. Good nibbly hop spice. Rich but somewhat ripe citrus, fullsome ripe orange and lesser tangerine. Hop spice ramps up a notch in the mid. Strata hops can be difficult to pin down. Should of called them Enigma, but that slot was already taken. Some ripe tropical fruits and smooth pine. A touch of the greener and more savoury aspect of hops coming through that provides a sharper edge to the finish. Plenty hoppy, hop abundance. Spicy linger. Hop depth. But, not top echelon, not quite, something is missing, an elusive degree of coherence perhaps. Something that makes me not want to guzzle it. Good nonetheless.

Can at home from CW online. Pours murky orange gold with a decent white cap. Aroma is sticky hop, grain, citrus fruit, grapefruit, pineapple. Taste is a big sticky hop bomb, fresh citrus fruit, cereal malt, booze, really sticky fruity bitter finish. Nice, boozy but balanced.

440ml can. Murky golden, white head. Aroma of boozy tropical fruits and citrus. Taste of juicy ripe tropical fruits, mango, candied citrus, grapefruit, dank, chewy malts, remarkably drinkable at first but the alcohol really starts creeping through towards the end. Full bodied, thick, smooth. Cloudwater have made a great QIPA here to be fair, but it's such an unnecessary style. Why not just make a DIPA (or TIPA if you must)? Less booze with just as much flavour.
