This unique Dark Ale beer aged in Quinta do Portal Port barrels where it acquired Port and wood notes that give it moderate sourness. Dark with a rich aroma, complemented with some wood notes (the Port memories...), make it well balanced leading to a long and spicy final.
It's a powerful and very gastronomic beer.

Aller siste rating på balconasen i Funchal, en 0,375 butelje fra lokal Spar-butikk i nærheten av hotellet og delt med Daglig Leder: nesten helt klar kastanjefarge med ok skum. Maltdrevet duft og smak med assosiasjoner til portvin/madeira, eik/vanilje, brunsukker/knekk og et hint av krydderkake. Et fint punktum for to supre uker på denne vakre øya.

375 ml corked & caged bottle, from a SPAR shop in Funchal. ABV is 9.5%. Brown colour, moderate beige head. Surprisingly modest aroma of malts, port and oak. Pleasant flavour with distinct notes of port wine, oak and malts, very moderate hops. Not sour at all.
