Franz is a light Bavarian Helles, classic and timeless

Light blond beer with a persistent white foam. Malty parfum, bread and tonal floreal coming from german hops. Hops and malt are well balanced in the mouth with a medium high carbonation. Sliding drinking due to a medium low body.

Can at La Yarda, Padova after a 16-17 km cycle ride from Pianiga, Saturday 19th September 2020. Pours clear gold with a white head, clean fresh nose with a little bit of millpond. Soft bubbles, fruity and dry, pretty good Helles.

2L growler from the brewer. Pale/hay color, bubbly white to offwhite head. Smell it's a little pungent. Flavor is much on the herbal side, and indeed would not expect much malt flavor from a 4.4%. Light malty with lots of grass, mild hops, an hint of lemon maybe. Taste flattish, fairly bitter for the style. Texture is watery, average carbonation, clean finish with a leftover of potato starch maybe and leaves/grass at first then a classic 'lager' mouth remains. Easy to drink due to its thin body. For helles i would personally stay above the 4.9 mark, i think they wanted something easy and sessionable, and this is.
