Single Hop Lager (Southern Cross 2021 Autumn Non-Filtered)

Looking at other ratings, I wonder if people actually like beer. The malt and character are phenomenal. If you don’t like this, you truly don’t like Pilsners. Check Brewver for my full rating

A bit hazy golden with a puffy white head. Grassy, herbal notes and very light toasted malt. Medium bodied. Has a very nice grassy hop profile and a healthy bite in the back end. Just right for a sharp lager. I’d like a couple steins of this and my evening would be set.

Bottle from the brewery in the 3-month Autumn set. Slightly yeasty, doughy, worty nose, nice leaft hops, bready pilsner malt. Definitely more fragrant than the filtered version. Bright gold, deeply hazy, like a Munich-area Zwickl. Rich malt, fruitier than the filtered, with more yeasty esters, a bit doughy, bit, smooth body with very light carbonation and just silky. Fabulous stuff that makes me imagine I am sitting in Spezial drinking their Ungespundent Lagerbier. Yeah, it's great.

First up: Baeren 2021 Autumn Single Hop Lager Unfiltered 5% Beautiful opaque gold with a rocky head of foam and a really lovely soft pillowy body that features chewy malts. The aroma is mild honey and spicy herbal noble hops. Really fantastic body on this. The hopping is a tad bitter/aggressive but definitely to style. Really good.
