Een heerlijk amber/rood bier met een volle zachte smaak door het gebruik van pale ale - en amber mout gecombineerd met een bescheiden gistkarakter. Een verfrissende afdronk door de hopsoorten Chinook (Ah! Vandaar die naam!) en Simcoe en 'n hint van grapefruit- en citroenschil.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Aroma is malty and toasty with notes of grapefruit, caramel, some piney hop. Flavour is mild sweet and bitter. Medium body. Hmmm okay. But has that typical 't IJ dullness.

A: clear amber, thin, off-white head.
A: oxidised apple, plum, biscuit, pink grapefruit.
T: sweet apple & plum, biscuit, some herbs.
F: herbal hops, pink grapefruit, bittersweet orange peel.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
The IPA elements are there but it feels oxidised and diluted.

Bottle. Clear light amber. Quite floral, grapefruit peel, dry malty notes and a touch of caramel, lemongrass, a touch of yeast. Medium sweet and bitter. Bit watery over light body. A bit watery and floral, but better rhan ome other recent IJ beers.

33cl Fles van AH. Mistig amber kleur, vuilwitte kraag. Ruikt redelijk hoppig, wat grapefruit, citrus, licht harsig en bloemig, rood fruit, smaak is granig (elk nieuw bier van 't IJ heeft dit tegenwoordig, het smaakt goedkoop en is irritant aanwezig), grapefruitsap, licht fruitig, erg meh qua smaak. Lichte body. Ik blijf de teloorgang van dit merk teleurstellend vinden.

Amber colour with lasting thin head. Considering the hoppy sound of the name this is actually fairly malt forward. Delicately sweet and slightly toasted malts. A touch of strawberry bubble gum. Moderately bitter with fairly floral hop notes.

Clear reddish amber with an off-white head. Citrus aroma with a little caramel and biscuit. Sweet taste with a medium bitter dry finish. Simple but tasty.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a shaker. Brilliant copper colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma light toasted malts, faint apricot and raspberries, biscuit, toffee, piney hops. Mild malty taste, medium sweet and bitter, light citrus, biscuit and toffee notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering malty sweetbitter aftertaste, light piney notes, okay.
