Quite simply, the way it should be - roasty wholesemness flowing throughout an incredibly rich body.

Can at Lumiere. Black color short dark brown foam quickly disappearing. Flavor of roasted and toasted malts, juicy, savory. Solid body, soft carbonation, clean finish with chocolate notes and a fruity leftover.

Backlog June 2018. Dark brown body under a fine, dense beige head. Aroma has dark malt, dark chocolate and some bitter coffee. Taste is medium sweet, dark roasted malt, hint of chocolate and coffee, balanced bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Nice classic stout.

Can from Beer52. How great to have a stout that's not choc full of adjuncts and flavourings! And this is an absolute cracker. It's black with a tan head and a thin fizz. It's viscous and oily on pouring - the body is more like an impy than a standard strength stout. It tastes smoky and roasty with lots of black coffee and creamy chocolate and a light note if Ribena. It's sweet, but with a mild bitterness and dryness that stop it from being too sweet. It feels like a rich indulgent late night beer and yet it's very easy drinking and satisfying and strangely sessionable. Frankly it's superb, I love this beer and want Moor of it!

Thin tan head left a spotty cover on still black body. Coal, tar & burnt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a light tickle on the back & clean aft. Malt, chocolate, light smoke, berries & roasted tastes. Excellent

330ml can from Honest Brew. Look - pours black, small beige head, decent retention. Aroma - roasted and sweet malts, chocolate, dried fruits. Fairly standard but very inviting. Taste - sweet malts followed by a chocolate and dry liquorice note and the the roasted elements combine with a moderate bitterness. Nice but lacks a bit of depth to take it to next level. Palate - medium body which is smooth and creamy, soft carbonation. Excellent. Good session stout.

Can from Beer 52. The nose is faint, but contains chocolate and fruit cake. Pours almost completely black. Very difficult to get a head, but what there is is a dark beige, with and almost reddish tinge. In the mouth the texture is very smooth and creamy. The main taste is sweetness. Roast malts are there, but they take a while to come through. Plenty of chocolate and liquorice though. Malts and coffee dregs in the finish. Very nice and drinkable, but lacking a bit in stout character.

Pours almost black with a small dark yellowish/light brown head that fades quite quickly, but still leaves thin layers. Super classic stout aroma shows roasted malts, grain coffee plus hints of chocolate and dark fruit cake. Average intensity and definition. Taste is sweeter than i would've guessed from the aroma and probably a bit sweeter than usual per style, though still enough in balance. Roasted malts and slight coffee with hints of sweet fruitiness. Semi-sweet but clean and dry enough finish. Very classic in taste as in the aroma, but not very deep. Light to medium bodied with light, soft carbonation, resulting in an easy but pleasantly silky mouthfeel. Was not impressed, but still satisfied.
