Quite simply, the way it should be - roasty wholesemness flowing throughout an incredibly rich body.

Keg tap at the Moor Brewery Tap, Bristol. Dark brown, almost black with a bit of filmy khaki head on top. Salt liquorice, charcoal, light coffee notes on the nose. There's some sweetness to the taste but it's edged out by the tarry bitterness. More liquorice along with some nutty notes and blackberry in the finish. Medium carbonation, fairly thick body. Nicely put together.

On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Black coloured, medium sized brownish head, caramel and whiff of chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, light coffee and nutty with dry bitterish finish. Not bad but...

On tap at Craft Room. Pitch black with a lasting tan head. Caramelly, roasty and coffeeish aroma, okay enough. Initially nice and smooth taste, caramel and initially pleasant roastiness. Soft and drinkable, but the roast grew and grew and pushed it out of balance later on, dropping it from top 3 to 5/6. Ah, dunno, will try again at some point.

0.33l can. Black body with a huge light brown head. Lots of chocolate to it with notes of nutmeg, spicy hops some caramel and coffee. The fonish is dry with a floral hop and rasted malt character. Very nice stout.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours almost black, with a good brown foam. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt, in general very delicate. Body is relatively light, with low carbonation that slightly tickles the tongue. Taste has some light sweetness, as well as equally delicate bitterness. Taste is very consistent with aroma. Finish is short! Overall, a very well balanced stout.
