Quite simply, the way it should be - roasty wholesemness flowing throughout an incredibly rich body.

Draught at Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Pale greyish beige, moussy, lacing, stable head over a very dark ruby hued blackish beer, still more or less translucent. Aroma of cold black coffee, hazelnuts, black chocolate, iron, wet leather, nutmeg, old dusty cocoa powder, bayleaf, white pepper, raisins. Meaty onset (umami touch but subtle) with a soft, ’deep’, basic sourishness but very little sweetness, though a hint of dried berries is there; medium carbo, smooth nutty and toasted maltiness becoming roasted bitter in the end, dry and a tad metallic with some spicy hops further drying the finish but remaining soft. Very typical dry stout I’d argue, certainly decent but not overwhelming in any way.

Bottle from Deliciously Different. Dark brown, beige foam. Bitter roasty stout with some sweetness. Very well balanced and full of taste. And only 5% alc. This is a very well made stout! Great!

On tap @EurHop (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a medium cappuccino head. Aroma is rich and refined, roasted malts, mild coffee notes and dark chocolate. Flavour is perfectly balanced, medium sweet with a good bitter end, elegant and refined. Medium body, medium to light carbonation, silky texture. The perfect stout.

Keg at Brewdog Camden during the tap takeover. Black dark brown coloured pour with a lasting thin, mid tan head. Aroma is slightly ashy roast, tangy berry, spicy notes. Little tart dark choc on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, mellow roasted barley, little charcoal, cocoa, tangy berry. Palate is medium bodied, highish crisp carbonation, little sweetness but fairly dry in the finish.
