Framboise is jam packed with Scottish raspberries (to the tune of 300g per litre) to give a full on fruit frenzy. A strong wheat base gives a full body which leads to a slightly tart raspberry finish.

Ayrshire Coastal Walking Mini Break Beer#27. This beer is now on the map! A hint of pinkishness, but more towards purple generally. I don't think the style matters here, it's just alcohol raspberry flavour, but crafted with care by the brewer. Not particularly sweet. Drank in my hotel at the end of a mammoth day's coastal walking. A little too rich in its fruitiness for me.

Can from Sainsbury's Berryden. Assumed I had this before. It pours lightly hazy pink with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet - sour, tart, tangy, fresh raspberry, fruit wine, tangy, cranberry and a touch of sherbet. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, puckering, tangy, mild acidity, fresh raspberry character, fruit wine, raspberry pip and a touch of tannin with a dry finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice balance to this. A world away from sweet artificial fruit beer.

Can from a Sainsburys in Glasgow. Pale pink in colour, with next to no head. Some tart raspberries and grainy malts, with a hint of sourness in the finish. Ok.

Can, gift from Emma. Hazy peachy-pink body with a pale pink head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raspberry and biscuit. Flavour of raspberry, wheat and oat. Thin to medium body with a powdery mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Restrained and refreshing.

A fairly straightforward framboise but it's nice. Crisp, fresh, fruity, just a little sharpness. Could happily drink a few of these over an afternoon.
