Murky brown color. Candy nose with cardboard and dark malt. Fresh yeasts, a bit flowery. Taste is the same, with extra chalkiness. Meh. I would have never guessed this ABV.

RBESG 2010, bottle at Brasserie 4:20
Barone de’ Rinaldi, Castello di Puglianello, 8.5% ABV

Cloudy amber color; small creamy head. Sweet, candi-like aroma, banana. Medium-bodied; as often happens with high ABV beers, there is a clear presence of vegetables; also quite evident alcohol perception. Low bitterness. Boozy.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with no head. The aroma has notes of malt and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, fruit, caramel, and a bit of wood and alcohol, leading to a dry finish. The alcohol burns lightly in the throat.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a reddish amber with a slight haze and an off-white head. Loads of brown sugar in the nose, some licorice as well. Solid body, fizzy, again the licorice is prominent with quuite some molasses and brown sugar. Absolutely no bitterness but some alcohol heat. Thankfully not really yeasty. 100810
