Can at home, 4th March 2021. Pours black and thick. Aroma is peat, barrel, liquor and liquorice. Taste is smooth, bittersweet, peat, whisky, barrel and liquor, sticky, resinous, liquorice and roasted malts. This is top of its game, fantastic integrated islay barrel and stout, as I hoped, outstanding…

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Colin. A thick jet black coloured pour with a lasting dark tan head. Looks the business. Aroma is intense, meaty roast, salty peat, warming alcohol, prunes, medicinal. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, brown sugars, meaty roast, peaty roast, islay whisky, meaty. Really intense. Palate is medium sweet, thick, oily, moderate carbonation. Intense stuff, lovely.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 15/01/22. Pitch black with a good sized dirty tan head that retains well. Nose is treacle toffee, big smoked malts, spice, figs, chocolate dipped raisins, bonfire night, burnt brown sugars. Taste comprises smoked malts, burnt toffee, peated bite, spice, charr, ashen notes, dried fruits, fruit cake mix, dates. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid peated impy ... great balance ... best of the genre I've had I would say!

44 cl. can @ home, bought @ Kulenborgse Bierhandel.
Pitch black with a big beige to brown head. Peat aroma with whisky, pipe tobacco, coffee and chocolate. Sweet taste with a bitter whisky finish. Exceptionally well done barrel aging. Yes it's really peaty but the beer underneath is still there, it even is almost fruity. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Close to perfection.

12/XI/21 - sample @ Billies Craft Beer Festival Day 1 (Waagnatie, Antwerp), BB: n/a (2021-1327) Thanks to the Brewver crew and other beer buddies for sharing today’s beers!
Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: oh yes, it’s all peated all right, very intense, sickening, way too much peat, nothing else, don’t like it. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sugary, dark caramel, super peted, bit sourish, meh... Aftertaste: more peat, very bitter, all peat, don’t like it very much.
