At the heart of each Bourbon County are the wood characteristics we thoughtfully amplify. This year, we took wood complexities to another level by doing something we’ve never done before: we took fully-matured Bourbon County Stout and finished it with toasted fruitwood—specifically, honeycomb-shaped cherry wood chips. The versatility of the cherry wood and honeycomb shape allowed for maximum flavor extraction, revealing complex characteristics like red fruit, ripe cherry, and light toffee, which are not found in the original oak barrel itself. The result is an amazing elevation and a notable difference from our Original Bourbon County Stout.

Pitch black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some chocolate, cherries, mild wood, vanilla, coffee and some slight alcohol sweetness to it. Flavour is rather similar to the aroma, very thick, big and bold.

Bottled 500ml or 568ml. -from Csak a Jó Sör Budapest. 14.2% Black coloured, small brown head, alcohol and whiff of cherries in the nose. Noticable alcohol, light cherry and dark chocolate with notes of bourbon and warming finish.

Malm� April tasting - intense sweet and roasted dark malty loads of rich opulent chocolate, imparted with rich bourbon barrel action, some cherry accents do indeed shine through, full bodied, smooth mouthfeel, bourbon cherry kissed lingering malty close.

2021 bottle poured, left over from what was supposed to be opened on Thanksgiving. Thanks, T! Dark, dense cola brown pour. Smooth caramel notes throughout, some barrel that blends nicely. Toasty, some gentle vanilla late. Some dark chocolate paired with bourbon on the nose. Really well layered stout here. Exceptional.

Black colour, no head; the carbonation is mostly gone now. Mild aroma of chocolate and coffee, some red jam. It's bold and moderately thick; I had richer and more elegant BCBS in the past; chocolate, a bit dusty, cacao; then mild touch of leather and tobacco; prune jam; and a healthy dose of alcohol. Very good, not exceptional.
