When we brewed Darkness in 2019 we filled two oak barrels with it and hid away in the darkest corner of the brewery. Aged for 24 months in mead barrels we got from Sahtipaja that previously had Mead Me in them, and before that bourbon. The soft vanilla notes from the bourbon barrels combines beautifully with the berry notes from the mead. Thick, deep, berry forward up front, vanilla notes, sweetness and an amazing body.

Tap @MBCC2022, Yellow Session. Black, beige head. Roasted, sweet malty aroma, some barrel. Sweet flavour, roast and alc warmth.

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter kaffe og mørk sjokolade. Fyldig. Søtlig. Kaffe, mørk sjokolade, noe lakris, vanilje og trevirke. middels lang.

Keg at MBCC 2022. Pours hazy dark brown towards black with a beige cap. Aroma: sweet roasted malts, chocolate, honey, light coffee, barrel. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet & moderate bitter, honey, chocolate, leather, soy sauce. Oily mouthfeel, medium to full body with fine carbonation.

Tap. Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, some honey, pretty nicely integrated barrel, old school roast too. Taste is honey, chocolate, some soy sauce. Oily mouthfeel, fine-bubbled carbonation. Fun one!

Schramm's tasting #1. Can from SB. Dark brown with beige head. Rich chocolate, vanilla, roast, liquorice. Somewhere between old school and new money. Flavor bomb.
