This Speling van het Lot features an intense version of Schaarbeekse Kriek. In the summer of 2020, we had a good yield from the harvest with more than 70 local families. We split the maceration over different larger and smaller barrels and tanks. This maceration is the same as the 22nd blend, but we only added a small portion of young lambik prior to bottling.
This way, the final fruit intensity clocks at 545 grams of Schaarbeekse sour cherries per litre of finished Intense Schaarbeekse.
100% 3 Fonteinen brewed lambik.

Bottle at Lambik o Droom. Pours a dark ruby with medium pink head that lasts. The aroma is strong cherry skin, oak, funk. Slick body, cherry juice, funky, barnyard, oak, nice acidity, very nice.

750ml (thx, Kump!) @ Black Christmas 2023 at Heritage Hall. Appearance: purple with a rose head. Aroma: nice a little bit sweet cherries, slight funk. Taste: along the same lines, funky, dried cherries, low acidity. Overall: good one.

Poured from 750ml bottle @ Black Xmas. Ruby red with small pinkish white head. Nice schaarbeekse cherry, tart funk.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy dark reddish burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma is full of rich, deep, pitted cherries, a little funk, and soft hay. Flavour is moderately acidic, with deep pitted cherries, light funk, and some hay. The cherries are acidic but deep enough, leaving a nice pitted character. Very good.

Bottle. Hazy dark ruby red, medium sized pink white head, pretty lasting. Medium soury vinous nose with syrupy and very ripe cherry. Medium soury, quite vinous. Nice cherry tartness. Medium aftertaste. Light and fresh. very nice. Very drinkable.

Bottle pour at LKBW 2022. Pours purple with pinkish head. Intensive cherries, juicy, some funk, barrel. Tad sweet with medium acidity. Medium bodied.

Bottle, LKBW22. Brownish red, pink head. Cherry and tannic aroma. Sour cherry, great sweet and tart balance, very soft, quite dry.

Bottle. Deep ruby color with pinkish head. Aroma is very luscious almonds, marzipan and intense cherry skin. Taste is cherry skin, very intense but also greatly balanced, not too tart, great notes of barn that are just enough to give complexity. Deep stuff, lovely balance. Fine-bubbled carbonation. Excellent stuff!

Couleur est pure bourgogne, pourpre, col fin rosé.
Arôme est fruité, intense sur la cerise, effet frais, arbuste et verger fraîchement ramassées.
Palais est, comme le nom l'indique, intense dans l'apport de la cerise de Schaerbeek - c’est fruité, généreux, effet un peu râpeux, noyaux de cerise, chair de cerise avec un excellent effet de barrique.
