Das Koch’sche Malzbier gehört mit 2,4 % Alkoholgehalt noch zu den wenigen echten Malzbieren Deutschlands. Wie unser frisches Mühlen Kölsch wird das Koch’sche Malzbier nach deutschem Reinheitsgebot gebraut und besticht mit einer Kombination aus angenehmer Süße und einer charakteristischen Hopfennote. Seinen Namen verdankt die Kölner Bierspezialität dem Braumeister Hubert Koch, der im Jahre 1858 die „Bier- und Malzextrakt-Dampfbrauerei Hubert Koch“, die heutige Malzmühle, gründete.

Bottle at brewery. Dark brown with thick beige head. Aroma of dark malt, csrsmel, no hops. Taste is very sweet, with malt, honey, caramel. No hops. Somehow I liked it.

Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is soapy, sweet caramel. Taste is very sweet caramel, but not too artificial. Low carbonation. Lecker.

From tap at Brauerei Zur Malzmühle. Dark brown color with beige head. Malty aroma, caramel, sugar. Sweet taste, caramel, cola like. Light oily body with soft carbonation.

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown without much head. Aroma and flavor reminds of the Amish shoe fly pie, very sweet molasses.

BOTTLE 50CL from Erzengel. Thanks, Gabriel, for this surprise.

Look: dark ruby, clear. Beige-orange head.
Aroma: malty, grainy, sweet, light toast, nescafe.
Taste: very sweet, burnt sugar, grain, husk, sweet instant coffee finish.

Bottle purchased from Brauhaus Malzmühle, Koln, Germany, Thursday 27th March consumed at mums, Worcester Friday 4th April 2014 Pours dark chestnut brown with off-white sticky, creamy, foamy head. Malty on nose with a molasses like sweetness (I can tell this ain’t gonna’ be good). Oh my word, what an unbelievably, sweet, sticky, malty, caramelly & molassess ridden mess. I have to throw this, cannot possibly cope with it bleurgh...... A5 A4 T3 P1 Ov6 1.9

Draught @ Brauerei Zur Malzmuhle, Heumarkt 6, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia Germany 50667.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, brown sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100515]
