Cask at the new Spoons, Waterloo. A dull gold. No head. Aroma is malty, citrusy, low key. Flavourwise we have a metallic and grainy streak with a yeast edge. Some malts. Some citrus. Thin. Light. Lazy fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Boring.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A straw coloured pour with a loose white head; bready malt aroma; sweet bready taste; then a hint of straw and a drying finish. A passable Helles.

[33cl can from Beer52 as “Notting Helles Gate”.] A straw coloured pour with a tight white head; sweet, grainy aroma; sweet cereal grain taste; and a sweet finish with a hint of grassy bitterness. Did I mention it’s sweet? Way too sweet.

Keg at the Metropolitan Bar, Baker Street, 20/05/22. Clear golden, carbonation evident, topped with a good sized lasting off white head. Nose is pale malts, grass, cereals, toasted grains. Taste comprises pale malts, breads dough, light citric zest, grains, herb. Medium bodied, lighy spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough logger bier.

Half-pint, tap after breakfast at Shakespeare's Head (JDW). Shared with Finn. Stable white head leaving upper part lacing on the glass, clear late straw coloured body. Subdued noble hops and grain on the nose. Careful malt-fruity flavours of noble hops, bread, and wheat. Ripe fruity end. Soft on the swallow. Average. (London 24.11.2021).
