Bottled (thanks GarethYoung). Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is whisky barrells, oaky and wooden notes as well as quite sweet. Flavour is sweet woodenness, alcohol and quite boring.

Bottled. Pale brown, brief head. Fruity and alcoholi nose with wood and vanilla. Sweet and densely malty with lots of oaky whisky flavuor. Phenolic and fruity , vinous and warming. Low bitterness. Quite similar to the Innis & Gunn series, but more full of life.

500 ml bottle, as "Tullibardine 1488 Majestic Whisky Ale", bought in Edinburgh. ABV is 7.0%. Brewed and bottled by Traditional Scottish Ales Ltd. for the Tullibardine Distillery, using the distillery’s spring water and malted barley. Clear and deep golden colour, pours very fizzy, when the fizziness subsides just a small white head remains. Strange aroma, sweetish / sugary and oaky, with peaty and fruity notes. The flavour is very sweet and alcoholic. There are notes of whisky casks and peat as expected, but I also expected something far drier and maybe more "scotch & club soda"-like, not this overwhelming sweetness. Are there any hops in this beer at all? Still, when you get used to the sweetness, the beer is drinkable - but remains a disappointment.

Small coarse white head. Deep coppery body with very light carbonation. Deep sugary darkly malty aroma with notes of whiskey, raisins, fruit, and tobacco. Some light smokiness, too. Aroma is strong and complex, but I don’t really like it too much. Deep sweet smoky chocolatey malt taste with strong notes of whiskey and dried fruit. Considerable alcohol heat; more than you’d expect from a 7% beer. Peppery mouthfeel. Dry, fruity alcoholic aftertaste. An interesting and powerful beer, but I don’t really like it that much. (0.5l bottle from gr0ve.)

Well first off im not a whisky fan, but this is a real interesting beer, Its a nice golden amber colour, with a distictive whisky aroma, the flavour is of a half decent whisky thats been diluted just a touch too much, but diluted with a light fruity carmel malt ale. There no doubt in my mind i would have scored this wonderfully interestign ale higher if i enjoyed whiskey.

Dark orange-gold; small white rim. Walnuts, cognac, old Bourbon casks, sweet almondcake aroma’s. Dried apricots, overripe fruit, sweet but nowhere cloying, extremely complex taste, with whisky barrels, peppery & sweet in the finish, even Szechuan pepper. Warming up, dark raisins, very " ’t Anker"-like. Very alcoholic, and very slick: obviously really quite thick, but feeling thinner. Excellent, superbly complex, and yet well-balanced beer. One of the best Scottish ever had. BIG thanks to Craig for this gem!

Bottle, 7.0%. As Blackford Majestic Whiskey Ale. Roasted, alcoholic aroma. Sweet whiskey flavour, some vanilla and wood. Strange, but drinkable. 5 3 5 3 13
Cask at Horsens BF 06. Clear golden colour, very small white head. The flavour is a bit sour, portish, seemingly from the whiskey. Very vinous, a little dusty. Reminds me of apple juice, only less sweet. 4 3 4 3 10

(500 ml bottle at The Rover, Götebrog) Vinous, of red wine, scent with lots of vanilla. Clear copper color, white head. Small again is mostly red wine, but also some butterscotch. Alcohol and marzipan as well. Malty, vinous, astringent bitter tannins, sour mouth puckering taste. Low hop bitterness. A bit thin mouthfeel and low co2. All in all just too much red wine. Had I been blindfolded and not told what was in it, I would probably have guessed that someone tried to get me to drink a cheap thin red wine. I will most certainly not have this one again.

A hazy orange beer with a beige head. The aroma is primarily of whiskey, but also with a light touch of smoke as well as lemon. The flavor is of whiskey and citrus, leading to a dry end. The body is thin - which surprises me at 7% ABV.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, fully golden with a white head. Very distinct whisky aroma. Surprisingly light-bodied with lightly sweet malts and lovely smoked whisky accents and a touch of wood. Wauw - the ratings for this are really hit or miss. 210906
