Imagine a classic Lager, simply made with black instead of golden malts. Such a beer has the Germans, and they call it Schwarzbier. We have made a Schwarzbier as a bottom and above added a layer of mixed German and American aromahumles that are added so late in the process that they primarily give aroma rather than bitterness. We can call it a bumblebee black lager.
Try it for smoked cheese, or for solid pieces of meat smoked or grilled – or both.

Canned (from KSM Kampus, Pori). Very deep brown, close to black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is nutty, some chocolate, mild floral tones with some slight wood and fruits. Flavour is fruity, floral, some toasted tones along with some mild black currant elements. Toast grows a bit in the finish.

Can @ Kvickly Middelfart. Pours Black with a frothy beige head. Licorice, roast, citrus, pine and chocolate. Body i a bit thin unfortunatly. Dry roasted finish with citrus and blackurrant lingering. Well Hopped porter.

Can, 0.44l. Aroma of roasted malt, cappuccino, chocolate, citrus and pine. Pours almost black color with large soapy light brown head, nice lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with heavily roasted malt and bitter chocolate, following is herbal and bready with citrus and black currant note, mouthfeel is smooth and rather dry, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium body, thin creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Bad seed means no bad beer…

Very dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Light roasted aroma with citrus hoppy notes. Dry and slightly thin roasted and citrus hoppy flavour. Top fermented, 5%, American hopped porter is one of the most wonderful crossover styles, but this variation lacks some fullness and complexity.

ABV: 5.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, fruity malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, citrus - grapefruit, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark malt, pine, woody hops, citrus - grapefruit, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20211119]
