Schwarzbier is one of the longest-standing beer styles in continental Europe, its roots being traced back to the medieval period. A classic dark lager, it balances rich, roasty flavours of coffee and chocolate with a dry finish and restrained hop bitterness.

200ml draught at Brygg. Stable beige head that laced quite well. Near-black in the glass, a deep ruby shade to it. Smoothly roasted aromas, dark bread and black chocolate. Well balanced taste of cocoa, chocolate, grainy malts, and a mild touch of dark fruits followed by a nicely roasted malty finish. Medium bodied. Really a well crafted Schwarzbier (Oslo 04.11.2021).
