Our export ale is named after the Great Deer (translating to 'Fiadh Mór), a giant Elk that roamed Ireland and Europe. This red ale was brewed to a higher strength to withstand the journeys abroad require of export stouts sent around the world from Ireland. Pouring a deep, dark amber with a fluffy white head, a nutty raisin aroma will give way to a slightly bitter and roasty ale with notes of caramel, nuts and raisins, and a dry finish. Melanoidin malt and slightly spicy and floral from the Milttelfruh hops.

Can from Beer52. Dark reddish-brown with small off-white head. Aroma of malts and toffee, fruit, slightly tinny. Taste of caramel, light roast, spice, quite bitter; nice. Medium bodied, slick. Good.

Can from Beer 52. Pours a dark orange-brown with a small transient cream head. Malts and raisins in the aroma. Sweet creaminess initially in the mouth, but very quickly followed by bitter roasted malts together with treacle, parkin and raisins. There’s a rye style spicyness as well, which lingers in the finish. This is a decent beefy “Irish red “ beer.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A hazy mahogany coloured pour with a golden glow and a tight beige head; aroma of toast and raisins; smooth malty body with a touch of raisins and cane sugar; and a little burnt grain adding bitterness to the finish. A substantial and satisfying Red Ale.

Thin off white head left a spotty cover on a reddish brown still body. Spice, spruce & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft clean back. Red berry, pine, spiced, malt & jam tastes with a sweeter peppery finish. Good one.
