(bottle) Ruby brown colour with a short and slightly tanned foamy head. Intensively smoke malty aroma with notes of burnt wood, smoked ham, as well as roasted malt and hints of ashtray. Moderately bitter and mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Roasty malt character with loads of beechwood smoke, ashy notes and a slightly fruity touch of an early infection; bitter-sweet, still very smoky finish. Slightly infected but okay. 10.VI.15

Dark brown-black color with white head. Aroma is smoked malts, some caramel. Taste is surprisingly fresh, dry malty tones, schwarzbrot, with an underlying smokey tone. Fine-bubbled carbonation which is a bit too high. Slightly watery mouthfeel, but the pleasant smokey aftertaste makes up for it. Very decent!

Clear brown colour with a medium white head and a light, smoked and malty aroma. It´s a well balanced beer with sweet malt, some caramel, light hoppy flavour in the end and a smokey taste. If you have ever tried a Schlenkerla from Bamberg, the 7Stern Rauchbier is quite similar to them, but with a more moderate taste instead of a massive smoky taste.

instead of blowing me away with smoke, was only lightly smoked with Beachwood. The malt comes through more than the smoked (which is VERY fine by me) and the finish is smooth, if not somewhat off dry. Brilliant

Pours almost completely clear brown color, topped with a nice tane colored head. Strong smoked aroma really hits your nose. The taste follows the aroma. Mostly smokey taste, a bit of bitterness. A bit too strong on the smoke side to be really enjoyable.
