Fläschla: Deep reddish-amber coloured, cloudy, big dirty off-white head, that slowly collapses, moderate to solid sweet-bitter ,aroma of dark malt with a certain vinous- fruity backbone, herbal hops well detectable, smoked malt underneath; solid sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied and soft; gets drier in the lingering bitter-sweet fruity-hoppy finish. A pleasure...

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before June 2022. Hazy, dark reddish brown with a large, foamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite fruity, gently smoky aroma of caramel, raisins, smoked ham and some chocolate. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty, quite fruity and slightly smoky taste of caramel, raisins, chocolate, wet leaves, burnt sugar, prunes and some smoked ham, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly roasty, moderately smoky finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Super interesting beer, really spot on, a Doppelsticke with some roast and smoked malts but still nicely hoppy-fruity. Finally something different, a real revelation among all the redundant examples of a few dominating beer styles.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, copper-ish, brown colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Mildly smoky, toasty, nutty, caramel malty aroma, notes of birch and beech wood ashes, hints of toasted nuts, whiffs of toffee and red berries, very light waxy, soapy and doughy overtones. Taste is mildly smoky, toasty, caramel malty, hints of toffee, caramel, birch and beech wood ashes, a minimally tart-ish, tannic touch of green wood, moderate hop bitterness, nutty and toasty nutty overtones. Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy and cloying palate, medium to fine, soft carbonation. Nice malt spectrum, mild smokiness - good, well executed idea.
