341ml bottle. Black pour, medium brown head. Aroma is very roast forward, but there are good amounts of resinous pine. Alot more cocoa notes than i expected, with subtle coffee. Lovely mouth feel, very lively carb. Finish is medium to high bitter, with alot of resins. The roast is bold, but is extremely well balanced.

Bottle at home. Aroma is coffee, big roasted malt, cocoa, fruity hops, pine resin, dark chocolate, grapefruit, notes of liquorice. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is full. Very nice, potent bittersweet flavour with a roasty coffee resinous hoppy aroma. Tasty stuff!

Tap at MLF. Very nice smell, classic black ipa, cocoa, roasty, pine, little bit of peppery spiciness. Taste is very nice too. More subtle than the aroma. Light chocolate and roast to start then the finish is hoppy, pine and citrus but with the chocolate still bubbling under. Hides the strength well.

Light brown creamy head stayed well on a still black body. Burnt bitter aroma - almost like burnt newspaper. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Crisp & clean on the back. Overpowering smoky, burnt paper tastes with dark bitter berries, cold bitter espresso & under ripe fruit.

Bottle from Saveur Biere. Pours dark brown with a slight red tint and an average sized lasting off-white to beige head. Aroma is heavily roasted, malty, chocolate, hop, wood, toffee and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness, with heavy bitterness. Medium to full body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Level of bitterness and roasting dominates the finish, possibly a little too much, but a very good beer overall.

Bottle at Svijet Piva, shared with Hrabren and Anja T. Black. Earthy, beety enormous beety aroma... Fuuuuuuuu. The taste carries along those lines, adding a citric dimension to the beets. Vague, empty bitterish aftertaste. Oh come ooooon. Even with transatlantic issues, how do you end up with this... Hard to drink. Says BB 11.18 and I seriously doubt that. Clusterfuck.

0.33 l bottle from Svijet piva (World of Beer), drank at the pub. Black, lasting moderate tan head. Medium hopped, vegetable aroma, spinach or red beet? Very neutral dry, no bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish. Not what we expected. 644212=2.8

Niezwykle. Chyba najlepsze piwo z Kanady jakie pilem, poza tym chyba jedno z lepszyych w stylu Black IPA. Jeden z moich top stylow. Bezkompromisowe goryczkowe i chmielne piwo.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. This beer is pretty much absolutely black. Wow. Impenetrably opaque, with a small film of tan head. Liquorice, tar, hyssop, salted plum, light camphor notes. This is intense. The taste is bittersweet and quite wonderfully medicinal, full of burnt malts, with a bit more sweetness just before the finish. Liquorice cough drops and charcoal in the aftertaste. Nicely carbonated and tastes nowhere near 8.6%. It’s a really intense beer and not your run-of-the-mill BIPA.
