Orange color with big head. Bitter oranges, marmalade-like. Fruity. Taste is fruity-citrusy as well. Thick juicy feeling. Bitter finish. Nice IPA.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Deep blond color with compact head. Very strong aroma, hoppy, fruity (tropical fruits and muscatel grape). Lean body, the mouthfeel is rather dry; the malt profile is quite crispy, some toffee and water crackers; expectedly strong bitterness with nice citrusy edge; light residual sweetness in the final. Overall, just the perfect balance for its kind, and highly drinkable, and fresh.

Hazy slightly amber, with an uneven rocky head. Aroma is pleasantly yeasty in a saison sort of way. Sweet front, some diacteyl kicking in late which is too bad. Dryness from hop, alcohol and a touch of that yeasty character.

60 cl bottle @ home, bottled 25.09.2013
Foams a lot when pouring. Aroma has sweetish American hops, some caramel, exotic fruits and some caramel. Flavour has citrus, some fruity hops, grass and some minerals. Aroma was promising but flavour is short and straightforward. The hops feel German, and the whole beer starts to feel like overhopped German pils at the end of the glass.

600ml bottle
Bottled 250913 - Pours yellowish orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus, some caramely malts and toffee. Taste is smooth, a bit stuffy and caramely with some hints of grassy hops, citrus and fruits. Finish is smooth, mildly hoppy and fruity with some floral notes, tartish citrus and stuffy caramely notes. Decent, a bit Belgian-ish IPA.

This is the first time I’ve had a Le Trou du Diable beer since my very first encounter when I tried their colab with Beau’s - Wild Oats Series No. 20 which was delicious. Looking forward to it. Pours a golden-orange with minimal white head that breaks down to a ring in no time. Lots of citrus and pine in the nose, a little barely mash floating around the back. Tastes right up front with bitter piney hops that finishes with some creamy-ness and a bitter aftertaste. Not my fave on first sip but grows on me as I work my way down the glass. Not bad, but not as good as their mango charged Wild Oats #20. Which of their beers should I be looking for? Thoughts?

Hopfig würziger Antrunk mit deutlicher Bitterkeit. Die Bitterkeit ist im Mittelteil stärker als der Hopfen, das Bier nicht sonderlich süffig. Milde Zitrusnoten, zum Ende trocken. 11/8/7/9/11/9

500ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy orange with a two finger white head that settles slowly and leaves sheets on the glass. Nose is pine, grass and some citrus. Fairly balanced sweet malt start followed by some grapefruit bitterness. Mouth is very light and watery with average carbonation. I was hoping for more from this.
