It’s thanks to Raphaël’s friendship with Nicolas Pittet and Pierre-Alain Dutoit, winemakers from Lavaux/Vaud, that the L’Amoureuse beers were born. They’re real hybrids – born of a combination of dry Saison and the freshly-squeezed juice of local grapes, blended and fermented together. The result is a relatively dry beer with a light, fruity, vinous nose. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and refermented in the bottle, the L’Amoureuse will continue to evolve and grow more acidy over time thanks to the wild yeasts that occur naturally on the grape skins

I am not a fan of chasselas, even though this beer is interesting. The taste of wine is stronger than the malt, sour, low carbonation, 04.05.2016, buying it at the ex grain d'Orges, Crissier, drinking it at Lausanne, Prélaz.

Very hazy and chunky amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head that fades quickly and leaves nothing on top. Aroma of metal, malt, grass and a lot of very funky, soured and bretty notes with some lactobilly notes and a dash of flowers towards the end, but the malts and oakiness drive the nose on this one. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich caramelised sugars and light toffee notes dominate here at first, but the bretty and soured funky notes come right behind with a lot of lemon and subdued fruit notes that are here as well including some stone fruits and a dry grainy finish. Aftertaste shows the sourness and especially the funky notes here with oak and cedar here as well, but the lemons and oranges come out as well, along with some good malt backbone characteristics and some nice sweetness at the end. Overall, an interesting and complex beer that hits the mark nicely and is odd, but works out nicely, especially after a hot day here in our nation's (not Suisse!) capital! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Leuken's Liqour in Dunedin, Florida on 14-April-2019 for US$5,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-August-2022.

Bottle, courtesy of King_Alex_II. Strong saison aroma of strawberry, very nice. The taste is a bit boring though. A good beer to try, but nothing exciting.

Hazy yellow color with hardly any head. Aroma is fresh, fruity with grapes, tartness. Taste is similar, with a light maltiness, but a bit boring. Overall quite light. Okay.

Alewife, Queens tap: Pours really cloudy whitish yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grape, wheat, acid, and some fruitiness. Taste had a nice sourness to it, but not particularly strong. Nice wit features throughout. A bit spicy and fruity. Very refreshing, especially considering the high alcohol content.
