Bottle. An almost clear one, dark amber in color and with a creamy beige head of moderate size. It’s quite malty on the nose, with toffee, some dried fruits and a faint roasted touch. Some influence from the barrel too, both in the aroma and in the flavor. There’s a little alcohol warmth in the mouth, with a pleasant carbonation. Full body. Roasted malts, toffee and some coffee hints. Lasting finish. A really fine specimen, perhaps a bit warming though. 150228

Dirty dark brown color with impressive head for a one-year BA. Lowland whisky in the aroma, perfumy, sweet malts, caramel. Taste is rich, very different, pumpkin (that was it!), bitter finish with great coffee. Slick mouthfeel. The easy, smooth Lowland whisky works out great here!

Rich rust-cream head over fully opaque brown beer with garnet reflections. First smoked/phenolic, then immediately chocolate. I do indeed detect hints of heather, dry wood and ashes, coffeemilk, shampoo. Dry, bitter, whisky, tar, alcohol(heat) and chocolate; hops in the finish. Bitterish-burnt caramel. Delicate roast/sweet balance, very well managed. Well-bodied, rich velvety feel, seems well-carbonated. Excellent beer - one for the holidays.

Bottled@Pub Winston Festival. Deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is spices, anise, some yeast and also mild toasted notes. Flavour is caramel, spices, yeast and some mild toasted notes along with some raisins. Balanced, but nothing all too special.

500ml bottle from Thornbridge Brewery Shop. Mahogany coloured body, huge and lasting beige head. Aroma of wood, hints of whisky, smoke and coffee with an undertone of cake fruits. A rich malty flavour, medium sweet, with notes of oak, smoke, and the eponymous whisky cask with a robust fruity mouthfeel. Would love to do this one again, nice.

Bouteille 50cl partagée par Pierre, merci. BB 31/01/2016.
