A really nice surprise. It's got a spicy nose (pepper and coriander), plus some light citrus. There's a strong malt body for such a light beer, with notes of grain, caramel, grapefruit and boiled lollies.

330ml can from School of Animals, Kuala Lumpur. Poured an unclear yellow golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, grainy, hay, bready, light cardboard yeast, light watery woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not bad as far as lagers go. Started out with promise but very weak and watery on the palate. Good beers leave a lasting impression but Outsider was super light and weak in the finish.

Can, Advent pack. Gold with an inch of white head that lasts and laces quite well. Bready and slightly grainy aroma with some floral notes. Sweet and quite rich with decent floral and spice tinged bitterness. I would have liked it a bit drier at the end but it's a sound and wholesome drop.

Schooner on tap at Saccharomyces, Brisbane. Amber beer with a foamy white head. Slight haze, high carbonation. Malt nose, slight fruit and caramel hints. Sweet and malty to start with a tinny hops in the finish. Nothing outstanding but very welcome in this bar with no air-conditioning (at lunchtime in Brisbane in SUMMER!).
