Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 16/07/23 Murky amber with a fast collapsing off white head. Nose is chocolate, mellow barrel, tonka bean, brown sugar melt, toffee fudge. Taste comprises cocoa powder, toffee, toasted brown sugars, dates, figs, mellow tonka, kiss of rum. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Tidy.

Clear amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, a whisper of caramel. I thought the chocolate and Tonka would turn this into a pseudo Impy but not at all. There is just a touch of tasteful and fairly sweet chocolate that does a nice job of supporting and contrasting a bright fruity rum. Finishes light and with more fruity rum and light sweet chocolate and mild boozy spice. I would say this is a dessert barleywine but not over sweet. And it's different, really enjoyed it.

375ml bottle. Hazy brown, small off-white head. Aroma of rum, booze, raisin, dried fruits. Taste is sweet, raisin, dried fruits, toffee/caramel, light vanilla/tonka, subtle chocolate, rum BA coming through nicely, very warming boozy finish with a slightly odd aftertaste that I can't place. Medium bodied, smooth. Decent but the adjuncts are lacking, possibly a good thing? Not sure.

Bottle from Hoptimism and day 24 of my advent. Hazy amber colour with a white head. Taste toffee, chocolate and vanilla. Sweet to bittersweet. Boozy.

Bottle at home. Pours deep golden amber, nose is huge rum, raisin, honey, ginger, caramel, tonka, taste is chewy caramel, spices, sweet, creamy, rum, hint of chocolate.

Bottle from Boutilliers online shop. Appearance - cloudy amber. Thin off white head. Nose - honey, sultana, rum and raisin. Wood spice and ginger. Taste - again getting slightly firey ginger as well as the honey, rum and raisin. Palate - full bodied and sweet through the middle. Then firey and woody finish. Overall - very complex.
