Full-bodied, dry, clove spice, chocolate and roasted malts. Tasty on a breezy Autumn day!
Robust Porters typically feature a more bitter and chocolate malt flavor as compared to a
lighter, This was the first beer we ever brewed at the Korbel facility. The recipe is very close to its original formulation. Bittered with Brewers Gold with Cascade and Celeia in the mid and late boil.

16oz can pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is ash roast coffee and some hops. Taste is more of the nice ash malts toast coffee.

16 ounce can at brewpub. Barely translucent dark brown color. Creamy tan head. Earthy roasted malt aroma hints at cocoa. Sweet chocolate malt flavor upfront. Mild notes of coffee and molasses. Rich and flavorful without being to toasty.

Taster, many thanks to Werckmeister!
Almost black body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, toffee, cocoa, subtle dark fruits.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty, medium dry, with coffee, liquorice, cocoa powder, some dark chocolate.
Very nice. Straight, robust, old-school Porter, with lots of nice roasty notes, while quite easy to drink. Nothing outstanding maybe, but well drinkable.

0,5l bottle at home courtesy of Rob, big thanks. Bottled 10.06.2018. black color, small coffee colored head. smells earthy, leathery, licorice, light smoky, light molasses. nice to very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, leathery, spices, peppery, bit rubbery, burned grains. finishes dry and rather roasty bitter with notes of leather, earth and peppery notes. liked the smell a bit better, taste is quite on the bitter earthy / leathery / rubbery notes. quite drinkable though.
