Full-bodied, dry, clove spice, chocolate and roasted malts. Tasty on a breezy Autumn day!
Robust Porters typically feature a more bitter and chocolate malt flavor as compared to a
lighter, This was the first beer we ever brewed at the Korbel facility. The recipe is very close to its original formulation. Bittered with Brewers Gold with Cascade and Celeia in the mid and late boil.

Draft pour pint enjoyed at Josh's Taps and Caps. A bit of a sad rating here for me. This will be my last rating here on RateBeer, and I enjoy this beer reflecting on all the good times, friendships, trips I took entirely due to this site existing, all the I wouldn't ordinarily order this, but I want to rate it moments. My 11+ years here doesn't compete with a lot of other folks here, but its enough for me to have a hard time not being sad it's gone, and being happy it happened. I chose Russian River to close out this chapter, because it was Consecration that really pushed me over the edge for enjoyiny craft beer, and everything the hobby can represent. That and La Terroir. The first beer I ever loved. This was the first brewery I ever loved. And nothing needs to be crazy about it to be great. Russian River Porter. Awesome. I'll take two. Nice light 5.75%. Perfect for piggy backing a big stout to start. Near black pour, cola foam head. Toasty malts, bold and flavorful. Big roast linger. Ultimately flavorful for a light side porter. Almost smokey. Bitter. Biting porter. Overall a great brew. I'll miss this place. Faking it til I make it. Having that tasting note on the tip of my tongue, not quite knowing what it is, and letting a previous rater tell me what I was tasting, and say, how did I not figure that out on my own. It was always about the raters. The community here. The lighter side of beer enjoyment. This site has always been an obvious excuse for me to get out and support the little guys. I promise that will not go away with this site. I'll end this rate the same way I ended hundreds of others. Good beer here. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Anniversary Porter on 24 May 2022 at 02:06 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: 16 oz can gifted by Tcon. Thanks. Really fun series here. Love enjoying these classic styles in their classic format. Toasty malts, soft coffee notes, bold lingering malt. Lingering roast, almost smoky. Smooth and flavorful porter with a robust side to it up front. Really hope other breweries take notice on how cool of an anniversary project these are.

Sampled from the tap at Aces & Ales Tenaya. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of roast and slightly sweet dark grains with a hint of chocolate coming through. Flavor has a nice chocolate and earthy roast with a dark grain backbone.

On tap at Bottlecraft Little Italy, Feb. 2024. Matte brown with some highlights, lingering lace. Cola & bittersweet cocoa nose. Nila wafer, cola, gentle initial roast, coffee creamer, cocoa dust, un-toasted brown bread. Hyper carbed, some texture, sloshable. Tasty.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a muddy dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is soft, with dry earthiness and toasted malt. Flavour is dry, with tons of dry earthiness and toasted malt. Very muted, with a dry, earthy finish. Not much going on here. I'm honestly surprised how highly this is rated — must just be because it's RR. It's fine.

Tap at Slunce ve skle 2023. Huge thanks Ryan for bringing these! Very dark brown body, smaaalll tan head. Coffee, orange, light chocolate in the dry, bit tart aroma. Coffee and light chocolate in the pleasant taste, woody notes, smooth and soft, lightly dry. Very, very well made porter by all means!
