Bottled & Keg. A brooding, heavyweight stout, crammed with intense, deep-roast specialty malts. A recipe 8 months in the making with multiple edits before we were happy to proceed, in the end it was a delight to brew.

Thnx to Niall Pours dark ( black )with a small, dark head. Smell is sweet , intense dark malts with some oaty side to it. Taste is bitter. Coffee, some dark malts. Too low mouthfeel for the ABV to me... Good carbo, but again, for both style and ABV, it should be less. An OK impy , but nothing to remember, unlike other buxton beers.

A pitch black beer with a very dark brown, medium and creamy head. Aroma is rich, coffee, liquirice and some chocolate. Also freshness of bitterness. Taste has strong and roasted coffee, richness of malts, salt. The end is long and roasted. Full bodied, slightly sticky, low carbonation. Intensive beer that could be more complex.

Tap@ Speakeasy, Tallinn. Pitch black, thick brown head. Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, soy sauce. Very smooth stuff. Flavor has roastedness, coffee notes, ash. Heavy stuff. Not as I like it.

Opaque black - brown beer, good fluffy tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, slightly tangy. Bitterish dark chocolate and earthy coffee, relieved by mild malt cream. Trace of lactose. Little hop before the smooth finish. Hangs together well but it never quite achieves lift off.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein tiefschwarzes Bier mit eine schönen bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv schokoladig, Kaffee, verbrannte Erde, etwas Vanille. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, viel Kaffe, hopfig, Schokolade, Vanille, klasse!

Black colour, beautiful dark brown foam. Medium carbonation. Very roasty with notes of coffee. A light sour hint. Some berries also. Almost no sweetness. Bitter hoppy finish. Good.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 8 Nov 2014) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of liquorice, black coffee, chocolate, dark fruit and a touch of oak wood. Malty, roasted taste with liquorice, black coffee, cacao and an impressive roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, oily texture, with a certain sweetness. Powerful, almost majestic, with lots of taste. Quite impressive, lovely beer!
