Bottled & Keg. A brooding, heavyweight stout, crammed with intense, deep-roast specialty malts. A recipe 8 months in the making with multiple edits before we were happy to proceed, in the end it was a delight to brew.

Bottle. Pours dark black, large creamy dark brown head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is very very roasty, some cocoa and anise, blackstrap molasses. Flavor is light sweet, fully bitter, roasty as fuck. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, lots of lingering bitterness. Solid.

On tap at What’s Brewing. A very dark brown beer, close to black, and with a dense, beige to light tan colored head of finger-thick size. It’s mostly on the dark side aroma-wise, with molasses, brown sugar, roasted malts, some chocolate and coffee. It’s coffee-acidic on the palate, full-bodied, lightly warming and pleasantly carbonated, with a bitter flavor from the malts. Roasted, almost burnt malts, dark sugar, coffee and some chocolate. Lasting finish. A nice one, but it sort of gets a bit too one tracked I think, not letting much hops shine through. 141031

Bottle shared with the lady friend @Eustonian Tap. It pours jet black with a massive dark tan head. The nose is rich roast, lots of coffee, earth, spice, dark chocolate, malt loaf, gingercake and dark fruit. The taste is rich, bitter, big roasted malt, charred wood, ash, burnt toffee, some acidity, espresso coffee, toast, liquorice, tar, varnish, alcohol sting and a touch of dark fruits with a long roasty finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and oily carbonation. A big, malty bitter bastard of an imperial stout. Filthy. Crazy stuff.

Bottle from Eebria, consumed at Foxhills campsite, Weybourne, Norfolk, Wednesday 24th December 2014 Black as yer’ ’at. Huge sticky looking toffee coloured head. A bit of creamy vanilla on nose a little wet sticky wood (Loz thinks cakey). Warming with lots of oomph. This is great but if you stuck some raspberries or cherries in this and it’d be superb (just mine & Loz’s thoughts) .Some bitter toffee. This is very good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

330ml bottle at the Local Pub, Athens. Black color with nice beige brown creamy head. Aroma is roasted malty, chocolate, light coffee, dark fruits, vanilla, hoppy too, light alcoholic. Taste is sweet and bitter like the aroma but with more hoppy bitterness. Medium to full body, oily, soft carbonation, bitter hoppy and coffee aftertaste.

Full draft pour with a small off-white head. Aroma was notes of roasted malts, tobacco, cocoa. Some astringent notes to it. Flavor had plenty of roasted malts, some light tobacco. Light coffee. Alcohol burn on the finish. Tastes pretty good actually.
